They ask themselves, â€Å"Why is College important to me?† One answer is extremely crucial in todays economy. In order to succeed and have little or no struggle financially, you must have a education that will end up being a career of your choice. Not just something that you have to settle for. My reasons for a why college is important to me are not only because of money but it has to do with me and my life. I have always dreamed of being a third or fourth grade teacher since I was about five years old. My ultimate dream and goal in life is to achieve that dream and become a teacher. It teaches me that I can not help others if I have not been trained and taught to do so. I want my kids and others around me to see me going back to school after 13 years and succeed in the career of my dreams. So I want to help others by encouraging them to keep going and to strive to do their best and they will make it and be able to support their family like I am trying to do. The activator is a harmful substance which can irritate the skin an eyes. Correct PEP is worn by each operative; however there is always a risk of both the activator and base splashing the individual. Manual handling is also a concern as the operative must climb onto step ladders carrying the base/activator to fill the hopper. Handling and risks to each operative can be avoided by moving to an automated bulk feed system. By moving over to the automated system the health and safety risks will be reduced significantly as there will be no need for each individual to manually fill each hopper. The automated bulk feed system will be installed for both potting machines and will insist of twin pneumatically operated double acting diaphragm pumps with dip tubes and four off outlet hoses up to machine mounted reservoirs. Electronic high- level sensors will be fitted to each reservoir to automatically call-off material from the supply drum on demand and stop when the reservoir is full. If I factor in the saving in down time on the factory floor this equates to a saving of 0. App per 25 KEG drum so therefore the payback time will decrease to 30 months. Even though there is a financial out lay the improvements to health and safety outweigh these massively. There will be a staff training exercise to complete with each Shop Floor Operative and raining to be received from Intermix who are installing the potting machine. The training will be given by the Shop Floor Manager to each staff member and a tool box talk will be completed. Future stock of the potting compound will have to be managed differently so training will need to be given to the department buyer as to how she will manage this. Attachment 5 shows the team update that was sent to inform every one of the status of the bulk feed system and update the buyer on how she is to manage stock Sty and orders. Discussions with Greenfield Polymers have been made by me in order to inform them f our current stock Sty’s and discuss when the change over to KEG drums will take place. The final batch of KEG drum stock needs to be purchased from our supplier first before the changeover happens. See attachment 6. Currently the activator and base are purchased on one part number and ordered in a 5:1 ratio. In order to simplify this I have created separate part numbers for both components which after discussing with Greenfield Polymers will make ordering and consumption of stock more manageable and straight forward. Attachment 7 shows the price breaks for both the activator and potting compound. By creating separate art numbers AL 10049 – Base and ALLELUIA – Activator will also allow us to manage the stock more efficiently when stock takes take place as each individual item will be counted separately. The biggest barrier I will need to overcome will be convincing the Had Director and Chief executive that this change needs to happen and the positive impact it will have benefits to the organization and people within it and the cost saving this change will make. This should suffice as evidence the system is needed and the benefits this will have to the team and company. See attachment 4. This report will be presented to he Had Director and the main objectives discussed. Communicating and implementing the change Identify who needs to know about the change, describe how you will communicate with them and explain why it is important to communicate the change to them. Explain how you will involve your team in doing this, and identify which tools or techniques you could use and how you would evaluate these improvement activities. These results also find consistency in other study findings like Kop and Fourier (2011) where they sta ted that users who are intrinsically motivated are more likely to engage in the course and be participants that are more active. In a study conducted by Yale University, however, Wang et al. (2015) found that there are no substantial differences in mastery goal orientations between completer and non-completer users. From this assumption, it is reasonable to believe that while a user is enrolled in a course, his/her initial motivations and goals may be affected by any changes during his/her learning path. Indeed, one of the reasons why users drop out is because they fulfil their needs before completing the course. Notably, Users may enrol to a course and focus only on one part of the compendium, which they believe, is more valuable to their needs. Specifically, a user may be motivated to master further skills, but he/she might be interested only to follow one lesson of the entire course without any reason to complete the assignments. As such, it is rational to assume that both completers and non-completer learners are motivated to master new skills albeit having different priorities in what they need to learn. The priorities of each user may be based on how they perceive the knowledge that they acquire while they are enrolled in a course. In specific, it is important that some coursers are more relevant for users to learn in a particular range of time. Additionally, the skills that a user wants to learn have a different priority about the tasks that he/she is doing that moment. For example, while Agne was explaining the reasons why she completed the course in English grammar, she stated that it was easy and because at that moment, she found it useful to complement those skills that matched with her voluntary job. She stated Effective writer one was easier to complete. The assignments were very clear; you did not need to do a lot of background work, and it was most of about the writing itself. At that moment, I was doing a lot of writing also from my volunteering, as such; it was complementing my actual work. The skills that she wanted to learn were complementary to her task that she was i nvolved in at that moment. This aspect also makes the course more relevant to the user and, therefore, more critical. The relevance of the course and the value of the skills that a user wants to acquire are based on the outcome. It is critical to take into consideration time perceived from learning because most of the users accesses Coursera to fulfil short-term goals and complement their skills that they think are more relevant to a particular range of time. If users perceive that the time taken to acquire the knowledge is too long, or the effort requested to complete the course is not contingent on the outcome, then they will be less motivated. It is also reasonable to make a consideration about the value of the certificates that Coursera offers and how users perceive the value of them. From the results obtained in the previous chapter users, they view the certificate as useless. Since most of the users already possess a degree, either bachelors or masters, and some of them have even more advanced degrees, they have stated that they do not aim to add further levels to their background, but they are more focused to acquire new skills and knowledge. Moreover, it is possible to follow coursers free, and this means that most of Coursera learners do not have any incentive to buy a certificate. Indeed, while discussing with the participants about the reasons why they do not purchase a certificate, they were referring their grounds in job interviews and the perspectives of the employers. Specifically, those taking part explained that in their interview experiences, firstly, companies do not know what Coursera is and secondly, busi nesses are interested in hiring people that have the right skills to do a task; they do not care if a possible candidate possesses a certificate. Moreover, users stated that the skills learned through a courser were added to their CV, and, therefore, they did not have any reason to buy a certificate.
